Omnipotence in Psychology

Omnipotence*

Omnipotence defends against stressors and conflicts by acting superior to others in terms of power, status, or ability. Self-esteem is bolstered by the contrast with feelings or experiences of disappointment or worthlessness. The distortion in self-evaluation is obvious to others.

Omnipotence is a Level 4 Defense Mechanism.
